Dr. Cathy Blanchong, DVM

Cathy Blanchong has known Drs. Nash and Sayed for many years. She has an extensive, varied path on her way to River Run. Originally from Ohio, she ventured to Colorado to receive a bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University before returning home to receive her DVM from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994 (yes, she was Dr. Nash’s classmate!) After graduation, she finished an internship and equine surgical residency at a private practice southern California. Loving the weather, but missing green grass and three board fencing, she found herself in Virginia. A series of events and Dr. Nash were responsible for Dr. Blanchong finding small animal emergency and critical care medicine…and although she only meant to stay for three months, she was hooked and has never really left emergency medicine. Her interest in geriatric medicine and willingness to think outside the box led her explore acupuncture, chiropractic and holistic medicine. Today, she believes and practices integrative medicine to bring the most optimal individualized care to pets. In her spare time, she loves being outside, hiking with her two four-legged boys, Maxx and Hank, and spending time with her family and friends.
